Sal, I have a friend (via the Facebooks and Jim Wright's page whom I believe has passed; she has just disappeared from all pages) who was a British RAF pilot. Her use of profanity was truly poetic. Wankspangle was a favorite, and she used "cunt" in a number of ways. One of my favorites was "Yes, I am a cunt, and you'd better salute."

I can, however, think of it as the equivalent of "dick" as a pejorative.
